These pages make up the course notes for my Java programming course (run at Dallam, Milnthorpe, Cumbria). Hopefully they also make a useful self-learning tutorial.

This course assumes that you have a fairly good knowledge of using a computer and aims to introduce the basics of computer programming using the Java language. You should be happy with creating files and folders, using windows explorer, installing and running software and have an interest in knowing how software works.

If you are looking at this because you are thinking of coming on the course, don't be put off if you don't understand the notes, that is what the course is for, to teach.
