ComputerlessOffice Why has the Swiss army knife not replaced all the screwdrivers in your toolbox? In general Multifunciton devices are not as good at a given task as single purpose ones. In this article I argue for lots of single purpose devices to replace the general purpose PC.

CrystalisedDevelopment There are lots of software development methodologies which attempt to direct the process of producing software to meet specific needs. In some circumstances these work, and in some they do not. I believe that underlying all developments is a common model. Understanding this allows a better understanding of why projects suceed or fail and why methodologies sometimes work and other times do not.

WhyProjectsFail A long time ago I was asked at an interview "Why do projects fail"... my first response was that there is no single reason and my second was "If I knew the answer to that I'd be rich". But it is something that has interested me since. This morning driving in to work I had an insight that seemed worth sharing.
